Jim Kearney

After doing a Diploma in Business Studies and Industrial Design in 1972 at Newcastle Polytechnic Jim’s intention at that time was to find a career in design. However, life often doesn’t go according to plan and found himself working in a corporate environment in IT.

In 2002  Jim decided to try his hand at being a full time Landscape Photographer. Although Jim had no formal training in photography he had spent a great deal of time taking pictures as an amateur. It all started when Jim used to take reference photographs to use whilst indulging in his other passions, walking and climbing.

Over time Jim started to build up a depth of knowledge and techniques in order to gain more consistent results. Over the years Jim developed an individual style and likes to concentrate on panoramic landscapes, this format is ideally suited to capturing the sense of space.

In order to retain creative control over the final product Jim prefers to do everything in-house from taking the photographs to printing and framing the finished images. All of the materials Jim Kearney uses are of the highest quality, ensuring that the finished picture will last a lifetime without fading.
